In keeping with the rural character of the hamlets and villages of the Town of Southampton, the mission of the Southampton Housing Authority is to develop affordable mixed-income housing opportunities.


NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON APPLICATION CDBG FUNDS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2013

Citizens’ Ideas Wanted on Community Development Block Grant

 

In April, 2013, the Southampton Housing Authority, on behalf of the Town of Southampton, expects to receive approximately $145,710.00 in Federal Community Development Block Grant Funds.  These funds may be used, and have been previously used for a variety of projects to be selected by local officials.


   Eligible Activities Include:

                Acquisition and demolition of blighted property   

                Housing Rehabilitation

                Elimination of physical barriers for the handicapped

                Public facilities and improvements

                Street reconstruction

                Public water projects          

                Economic Development      

                Public Services (limited to 15%)

     

Town of Southampton residents are invited to attend this public hearing on October 17, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. at the Southampton Housing Authority Community Room, 57 Springville Road, Unit 34A, Hampton Bays, NY to express citizens’ views on the local community development needs to be met with these funds.
